Today, we’re talking about ‘influence’.
Sometime last year, I reshared two reels from a certain photographer’s page to my story on Instagram. When I came across his page, only one of my mutuals was following him. Within 24hrs of sharing those reels, seventeen more of my mutuals had followed him, and I had a private account with under 500 followers.
The point is that whether with 500 or 5K followers, every one of us is influential to an extent (online and offline). We could be known by only one person, and yet have an influence on that person. Whatever we do or say — right or wrong — there’s always a chance that someone might take from it, either subconsciously or intentionally. We can use our little influence to our benefit or destruction;
Muslim (1017) narrated that Jarīr ibn ‘Abd-Allāh (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:
“He who sets a good precedent in Islam, there is a reward for him for this (act of goodness) and reward of that also who acted according to it subsequently, without any deduction from their rewards; and he who sets in Islam an evil precedent, there is upon him the burden of that, and the burden of him also who acted upon it subsequently, without any deduction from their burden.”
Choose goodness. Spread goodness.
We’ve missed you! This is a very important reminder, بارك الله فيك
I've had someone follow me on Twitter because of the Islamic reminders and duas I retweet. I never got any engagement on those tweets but the fact that there are people that actually get to see them made me happy.
