Abū Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) said: “The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:
“There are three whose du’ā is not rejected: a just ruler, the fasting person when he breaks his fast and the prayer of the oppressed person. It rises above the clouds and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and the Lord, may He be glorified, says, By My Glory I will answer you even if it is after a while.”
Al-Tirmidhi, 2525.
One of the reasons why we all look forward to Ramadān is the list of ad’iyah we’re hoping to get answered. Spend the last moments to iftār supplicating to Allāh while you’re in a state of weakness and humility. Keep with you your date(s) and water (or whatever you have) so you can easily hasten to break your fast.
Dhikr for (after) breaking the fast
ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ .
Dhahaba az-zama wa’btallat al-‘urūq wa thabata al-ajr in shā Allāh.
Thirst is gone, the veins are moistened and the reward is certain if Allāh wills.
