As for those of us who indirectly try to hinder other people’s spiritual growth, I say live and let live. Don’t tell a sister to put her veil down because “she’s covering the beauty of her jewelry”, or tell a brother to calm down because “it’s just one congregation”. If you are comfortable with where you are in faith, do not bring others down with you.
“Live and let live”, but do not say that when you’re being corrected as we have been instructed clearly in the Qur’ān and Sunnah to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever among you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; and if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, then with his heart [by feeling that it is wrong] – and that is the weakest of faith.”
