I understand just how refreshing it feels praying in congregation with other worshippers, listening to the soothing recitation of the Imām. And some of us are faced with the problem of not having a provision for women to follow the tarāwīh prayer at our local masājid, but that’s not a problem at all.
It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allāh ibn Mas’ūd that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“A woman’s prayer in her room is better than her prayer in her courtyard, and her prayer in her cabinet is better than her prayer in her room.”
Abū Dawūd, 570; al-Tirmidhī, 1173.
And if your hifdh isn’t quite there yet, use a mus-haf or a device. (Just remember to put it on DND or flight mode to avoid distractions.) Our mother Ā’ishah (رضي الله عنها) had a slave who used to lead her in prayer in Ramadān, reading from the Mus-haf.1
Narrated by al-Bukhāri in a mu’allaq report (1/245).
